Kesem at West Virginia University
About
Kesem at West Virginia University is apart of a larger National Non-Profit organization. At our chapter here on campus, founded in 2015, we work with the larger Kesem mission of being a child's friend through and beyond their parent or guardians cancer. We work year-round to create a space where kids can just be kids, have fun, and be with other children who understand their familial struggles.
We have many levels to our club:
1. A General Body who serve as general club members, attend monthly meetings, and help our Coordinators Board with tasks as needed.
2. A Coordinators Board: These volunteers commit to more hands-on work to make camp happen, fundraise, and raise awareness throughout our State! There are many positions on this leadership board and each of them offers great service and leadership experience! This time commitment is roughly 3-5 hours a week.
3. Counselors: These are student volunteers who only attend our week-long summer program in June. These volunteers receive 250 service hours for their time at camp.
